  7. A Micro Channel-based eight RS-232C serial I/O ports controller with complete
  8. RS-232C handshake. A CTC Systems exclusive indexed I/O addressing scheme allows
  9. users to support eight serial I/O ports using one set of eight I/O addresses
  10. instead of the 64 I/O addresses (non-indexed I/O) that are normally required to
  11. manage the eight UART's. Both indexed and non-indexed I/O addressing schemes
  12. are supported. The I/O addressing selection is accomplished via a jumper
  13. setting. Optionally, for OEM applications, a "finger-print" PROM is available
  14. to prevent software piracy. Two versions of the controllers are available:
  15. NS16C450 with 4 bytes of FIFO or the NS16C550 with 16 bytes of FIFO.
  16. Programmable baud rates up to 115,400 are accessible. MS-DOS and UNIX device
  17. drivers are available. Serial device connections are made through the use of
  18. eight EIA DB25S connectors.
